Start fresh. Give clean, bare nails a quick swipe with nail polish remover to remove any oils or residue - this little step helps your colour stay put for longer.
Apply your first coat in smooth strokes from base to tip, then give it 3-4 minutes to dry completely before going in with a second coat for that perfect pop of colour.
